Business Services Division:
Under general supervision, to perform a variety of duties involved in the care and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities; to perform a variety of grounds keeping functions; and to perform a variety of semi-skilled work in several areas of the building trades. Education and Experience:
Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. One year of experience in the care and cleaning of buildings, facilities and grounds.
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license and appropriate vehicle operation insurance. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential duties require the following skills and work environment: Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, twist, climb and lift 70 lbs. Exposure to outdoors, confining work space, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards. Availability to be on-call. Ability to travel to various sites.

This is an on-call/temporary position. Applications is will be continuously screened. Qualified applicants will be invited to a written examination. If an applicant needs reasonable accommodation, we must be informed prior to the administration of the test. As part of the selection process, three professional references including previous employers will be contacted. As part of the onboarding process, three professional references including previous employers will be contacted. If selected, fingerprinting is required with a copy of your social security card and a valid form of ID. As part of your onboarding, you will be registered on our online platform to complete the required paperwork which include a negative (tuberculosis) PPD skin test clearance (valid within the last four years). You can have the test done through the Santa Cruz Health Department, Doctors on Duty Clinic or by calling a physician or a clinic of your choice. You will also need to complete the mandatory trainings and new hire orientation prior to your start date. Due to SB848, all Local Educational Agencies (LEA) you list under the Mandatory Employment Disclosure Employment History will be contacted.
