This position supports multiple buildings located within less than one mile of each other. Employees will be required to travel between assigned facilities during the workday. Facilities vary and may include swimming pool areas, restrooms, offices, conference rooms, lounge and reading areas, recreational spaces, and other public areas. Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus, but not required. We will train the right candidate! Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clean and maintain assigned recreation facilities and common areas Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies Clean pool-area floors, surrounding surfaces, and other assigned aquatic areas Clean conference rooms, offices, lounge areas, reading areas, and recreational spaces Dust and clean furniture, shelving, bookcases, fixtures, equipment, and other surfaces Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces Empty trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste Respond promptly to spills, trash, and other cleaning needs Monitor assigned areas and address cleaning needs throughout the shift Maintain custodial closets, equipment, and supplies in an organized condition Properly use and care for cleaning equipment, chemicals, and materials Follow established cleaning, safety, and security procedures Report hazards, maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions to management Travel between assigned recreation buildings as required during the shift Perform other duties as assigned Physical Requirements Employees may be required to: Stand and walk for extended periods Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements Push and pull cleaning carts, trash containers, and equipment Lift, carry, move, and position up to 40 pounds Navigate stairs and varying indoor and outdoor walking surfaces Perform cleaning duties requiring frequent movement throughout the shift Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience is a plus, but not required Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Able to follow instructions and established cleaning procedures Able to work independently and as part of a team Able to manage time and complete assigned cleaning responsibilities Comfortable working in a variety of recreation facility environments Able to travel between assigned buildings located less than one mile apart Bilingual skills are not required Work Environment This position is performed in multiple recreation facilities and may include pool areas, restrooms, offices, conference rooms, recreational spaces, and other public areas. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, wet or slippery surfaces, humidity, water, noise, and other conditions associated with recreation and aquatic facilities. The position may require brief outdoor travel between nearby buildings.
