Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Opening Janitor to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall sanitation of our premises at the start of each day. Mon-Fri (weekends off) 5AM - 2PM Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums. Handle and apply chemical agents safely for sanitation and cleaning tasks, following all chemical handling safety procedures. Conduct manual handling tasks including lifting heavy equipment or supplies while adhering to safe lifting practices. Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting to uphold sanitation standards. Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs or hazards and report issues promptly for resolution. Operate cleaning machinery efficiently, including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools, ensuring proper care and maintenance. Support general facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to uphold the facility's appearance and safety. Requirements Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning standards. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the safe handling of chemical agents. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while following safety protocols. Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during early morning shifts. Customer service mindset with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
