A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for cleaning all items and surfaces in assigned areas and ensuring they meet Mohegan Sun's standards of cleanliness.Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
includes but not limited to: Monitors and maintains the cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming using the proper chemicals, tools and equipment Services, cleans and supplies restrooms Empties trash containers, ashtrays and ash urns Polishes brass surfaces Ensures the safety of assigned keysSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports any damages to furniture, fixtures or equipment to the supervisor, as needed Carries and maintains proper cleaning supplies for assigned tasksMinimum Education and Qualifications:
Previous cleaning experience or ability to use cleaning equipment and supplies Must be able to communicate effectively with patrons and supervisorsCompetencies :
Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position: Good verbal communication skills Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques Performs job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracyTraining Requirements:
Completes EVS Training Module which includes the proper use of chemicals and safety procedures Knowledge of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment and their proper use Biohazard clean-up procedures Knowledge of proper infection control and blood borne pathogens procedures and precautionsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a casino environment with smoke, loud noises and low lighting Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
