A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Porter is responsible for performing all regular cleaning activities at our new UCONN Residential Building at 1201 Washington Blvd. This includes removing debris, maintaining common areas, restocking bathrooms, and more. This position impacts our residents by ensuring all common areas in the building are in excellent condition. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily cleaning of all common areas; dust, sweep, wet mop, vacuum, and empty garbage Report all notable concerns such as vandalism, missing light bulbs or fixtures, and missing smoke detectors or extinguishers in the common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor Keep the property and parking lots in a neat and orderly manner Perform building walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs Keep accurate and organized supplies and supply lists Accurately record and report their own time Respond to cleaning requests at the direction of the Property Manager or Assistant Property Manager when the Maintenance Superintendent is not available Accurately communicate work requested and work executed to the Maintenance Superintendent
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in janitorial or maintenance roles preferred Strong attention to detail and reliability Candidate will be required to work at least one weekend day RMS is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer
