Position Overview:
As a Day Porter at FCS Facility Services, you will be an integral part of our cleaning team, responsible for performing a variety of cleaning duties to uphold the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our clients' premises. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and dedicated to delivering outstanding cleaning results while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Drive a Gator Vehicle (Golf Cart) around the garage through all the floors picking up trash from the floor, walls, columns, etc with a trash picker. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly. Clean and sanitize public areas such as restrooms ( counters, sink, door handles etc.) Wipe down surfaces, windows, handrails,extinguisher, emergency phone boxes, doors to remove dirt and fingerprints. Clean and maintain equipment such as parking pay stations, elevators, and escalators. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the garage area, including parking spaces, entryways, and stairwells.
Litter Removal:
Patrol the garage premises regularly to pick up litter, debris, and other waste materials. Dispose of collected trash in designated receptacles or disposal areas. Monitor and clean designated smoking areas, ensuring compliance with smoking policies.
Spill Cleanup:
Respond promptly to spills and accidents within the garage, such as oil leaks or fluid spills. Use appropriate cleaning materials and techniques to contain and clean up spills, preventing slip and fall hazards. Report any hazardous spills or maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor. Customers:
Provide courteous assistance to customers entering or exiting the garage. Offer directions and guidance to help customers locate parking spaces or navigate the facility.
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver license. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Good communication skills in English A customer service-oriented attitude. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Schedule:
Full-time:
12:00 PM-8:30 PM, 2 days off per week, guaranteed 40 hours.
Working Conditions:
The Janitor/Garage Porter typically works indoors within the parking garage facility, but may also perform outdoor maintenance tasks in varying weather conditions. They may be exposed to dust, fumes, and cleaning chemicals while performing their duties. The role may involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
