MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of related experience. Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills. Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment. Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention. Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, chemicals, practices, computers, and applications. Ability to work with equipment and chemicals commonly used in custodial work. Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.

07/12/23 Responsibilities Perform a variety of duties involving cleaning, minor repairs, lawn care, and other routine cleaning procedures (i.e., light painting, removal of graffiti). Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, offices, stairways, and other areas. Sweep, mop, and scrub; wax, buff, and strip wax from floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets; dust/polish furniture; remove mildew; and replace supplies as directed. Dispose of wastepaper, facilitate recycling activities, remove gum, wash windows/desks, clean whiteboards, and wash outside areas as needed. In kitchen areas, clean air conditioning vents; ductwork; fans on walls, ceilings, coolers, and freezers; lights and enclosures in exhaust hoods, coolers, freezers, warmers, and ceilings; and exposed motors and wires on backs of ovens; replace bulbs when needed. Follow building procedures to secure areas of assignment. Make simple repairs and perform routine maintenance to cleaning equipment. Report damages of structure and equipment requiring extensive repairs. Provide minor maintenance work to include light painting, replacing light bulbs, and performing basic electronic, carpentry, and simple plumbing repairs, etc. Provide basic lawn care, cut/trim small areas of grass hedges, sweep and clean walks, and assist in keeping outside premises in an orderly condition. Maintain related lawn equipment. Utilize basic District computer applications for communication, training, and record keeping. Take care that certain papers and materials are not misplaced or destroyed in assigned work areas. Use chemicals provided by the District as trained. Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures. Move furniture/equipment and deliver supplies. Request assistance as needed when lifting/moving heavy or awkward objects.
