About the
Role:
The Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of accommodation and food service facilities. This position ensures that all public and back-of-house areas are kept in pristine condition to provide guests with a welcoming and comfortable environment. The Porter supports the operational team by handling various tasks such as waste removal, cleaning, and assisting with deliveries, which contributes to the smooth functioning of daily activities. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential to promptly address any maintenance or cleanliness issues. Ultimately, the Porter helps uphold the establishment's reputation for quality service and guest satisfaction through diligent and consistent work.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods. Basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures. Strong work ethic with reliability and punctuality. Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a hospitality or food service environment. Familiarity with safety and health regulations related to cleaning and maintenance. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers or vacuum cleaners. Basic knowledge of inventory management and supply handling. Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in guest areas, hallways, and service zones. Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining and event spaces as needed, ensuring all areas meet hygiene and safety standards. Transport supplies, linens, and equipment between storage and operational areas efficiently and safely. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly to prevent disruptions. Support team members with ad hoc tasks such as stocking supplies, assisting with deliveries, and maintaining storage areas.

The Porter utilizes physical stamina and attention to detail daily to maintain cleanliness and order throughout the facility. Effective communication skills enable the Porter to coordinate with team members and report issues promptly, ensuring operational efficiency. Time management and organizational skills are essential to prioritize tasks and complete duties within designated timeframes. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety protocols ensures that all work is performed to high standards while minimizing risks.
