A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

This position is part of the AbilityOne Program, a national program that provides employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Through nonprofit agencies, the program offers employment opportunities in areas such as custodial, landscaping, and food preparation services to a diverse range of government customers. The program also requires that 75% of the services provided be completed by individuals who meet the definition of federal disability. Keeps the assigned area in a clean and orderly condition Prepare chemicals for use in the performance of various cleaning tasks, in accordance with instructions Care for equipment and perform routine maintenance and cleaning as needed Perform cleaning duties as instructed and assigned, including but not limited to: Restroom cleaning, replenishing paper products, and soap in restrooms. Office cleaning, empty trash receptacles, dust surfaces, damp wipe surfaces, vacuum, sweep. Removal of trash Floor cleaning includes sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, and wet mopping. Performance of cleaning duties may take place in an indoor/outdoor environment, depending on the customer's needs. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and/orExperience:
Must have 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Competencies:
