Documents all work performed and maintains knowledge related to sanitizing and making beds, including cleaning operating rooms. Reports hazardous situations and responds to hazards and emergency situations. Ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility on a daily basis. Travels to assigned areas and responds to overhead pages or pager notifications. Stocks cart daily with paper products and cleaning solutions. Cleans patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices, and ancillary rooms in assigned areas. Collects and disposes of trash appropriately. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick-up. Performs cleaning tasks including sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, high dusting, wall washing, scrubbing, bed making, and vacuuming. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Maintains age-specific precautions, ensuring cleaning carts are not left unattended and environmental services closets remain locked. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to communicate in English. [Required]
- Must be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports and do basic arithmetic. [Required]
- Must be able to follow oral, written assignments and have full knowledge of basic environmental duties.
