Functions as working supervisor. 2. Assists custodial supervisor in establishing areas of responsibility and work assignments. 3. Ensures personnel and equipment necessary to accomplish assigned tasks are available. 4. Checks standards of performance in all areas of maintenance and initiates corrective action as required. 5. Assists in maintaining control of supplies and maintenance equipment. 6. Assists in maintaining personnel attendance records. 7. Carries out security and safety procedures as established by supervisor including those procedures related to the Florida "Right To Know" Law. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience in custodial service Customer Service Experience Experience managing employee work schedules and time keeping. Experience developing and maintaining custodial standards of work and standard operating procedures. Inventory management experience. Preferred Licenses/Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge of custodial products, tools, services, and custodial equipment repairs. 2. Ability to use and adapt to new technologies including computers and various custodial equipment. 3. Skilled in training/developing employees and evaluating competencies. 4. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. 5. Ability to perform manual labor. 6. Ability to give, receive, understand, and follow oral instructions. Working Conditions General Working Conditions This job primarily operates throughout the College's worksites and grounds. The employee may be exposed to elements including but not limited to wet/humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The role may also involve hazards or physical risks, which require comprehending and following basic safety precautions and may require Personal Protection Equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to remaining stationary, moving, ascending/descending, positioning self, reaching, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-100 pounds. This job also entails communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
