A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Goodwill Industries-Manasota, Inc. (comprising Goodwill Manasota and Goodwill Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast), a leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to Changing Lives Through the Power of Work, proudly serves 11 counties on the east and west coasts of Florida. Goodwill's mission-integrated social enterprise transforms community donations into opportunities — providing training, resources, and support through our programs and strong local collaborations to help individuals obtain employment and build skills. As a Donation Center Attendant , you are the first point of contact for donors at our attended donation centers. You'll provide friendly and efficient customer service, assist with unloading donations, maintain a clean and safe site, and ensure all donations are processed responsibly and in line with Goodwill's mission and values.
What You'll Do:
Greet donors promptly and courteously, assisting with unloading donations and providing tax receipts. Accurately record donor information and maintain daily donation counts. Sort donations into appropriate categories (saleable, salvage, or trash). Keep the donation site clean, organized, and safe at all times. Safeguard all donated items and ensure proper use of equipment and supplies. Support transportation or site operations as needed and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
What You'll Need:
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. Basic computer skills and ability to work independently. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license. Flexibility to work various shifts, evenings, weekends, or different locations. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform tasks requiring bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move up to forty (40) pounds with no support regularly. Over forty (40) pounds request for additional team member assistance as needed. Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion. Manual dexterity is required.
