A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Custodial Carpet Crew Florida State University - 4.3 Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time 5 hours ago Qualifications Oil change Pressure washing Automotive fluid replacement Water damage restoration Servicing vehicles Cleaning (upholstery maintenance) Automotive scheduled maintenance Carpet extractors Restroom cleaning 2 years Entry level Full Job Description Department FSU Custodial Services Responsibilities Operates a University vehicle with a mobile carpet unit to perform carpet cleaning across all residence halls. Conduct furniture upholstery cleaning of upholstered surfaces. Assist in water damage restoration of carpeted surfaces. Assists with water extraction on non-carpeted surfaces. Conduct stain/spot remover cleaning. Vacuums carpets and performs other related flooring maintenance and cleaning as required. Clean the University vehicle with a mobile carpet unit and instruments along with any type of routine maintenance on the University vehicle and mobile carpet unit as needed or daily or via a checklist. Also work with immediate supervisor to schedule oil changes for the engine of truck and any other necessary, basic carpet truck mount, engine, or vehicle maintenance and/or repairs. Floor care on all floor surfaces and general custodial cleaning duties in order to assist residence halls due to staff shortages whenever necessary. Performs pressure washing duties along the outside of residence hall buildings. Restroom restoration care using a Reel cleaner or Kai-Vac machine or a similar machine on a scheduled and/or as-needed basis. Performs other general and project custodial cleaning duties as needed. Qualifications At least a 9th Grade Education Preferred Qualifications Two years of carpet work. Pressure washing experience.
