Summary We are seeking a reliable and flexible Cleaning Crew Member & Preschool Floater to join our team at Edu1st. This position combines cleaning and facility responsibilities with direct support in preschool classrooms. When working as a Floater, the team member will assist teachers and interact directly with young children throughout the school day. Previous experience working with children in a preschool, childcare, school, or similar setting is required. The ideal candidate will be dependable, caring, adaptable, and comfortable working in both classroom and facility environments. Cleaning & Facility Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties in classrooms, restrooms, common areas, and other school spaces. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the school. Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures. Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies. Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or facility issues. Assist with setup and preparation for school activities and events as needed. Preschool Floater Responsibilities Provide classroom support when assigned as a Floater. Work directly with preschool-aged children under the guidance of the classroom teacher. Assist teachers with daily routines, transitions, meals, rest time, outdoor activities, and classroom activities. Support teachers in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. Supervise and engage with children in a caring, respectful, and age-appropriate manner. Assist with classroom organization and preparation of materials. Follow the teacher's guidance and support the classroom's daily needs. Adapt to different classrooms, age groups, and daily responsibilities. Follow all health, safety, DCF, and school procedures. Qualifications Previous experience working directly with children is required. Previous experience in a preschool, childcare center, school, or similar setting strongly preferred. Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred. Comfortable interacting with and supervising young children. Caring, patient, and attentive when working with children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, punctual, responsible, and adaptable. Ability to transition between cleaning responsibilities and classroom support. Ability to follow instructions and work independently when completing cleaning duties. Must meet all applicable DCF and early childhood licensing requirements.
