A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Schedule/Hours:
3 Days per Week-(20 hours per week) This position is responsible for: Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies. Sweeps, vacuums, mops and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks. Cleans windows. Dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures. Cleans kitchen and dining area; washes dishes; cleans and defrosts refrigerator; cleans stoves and ovens. Stocks and sorts pantry items.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements; Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing housekeeping and minor maintenance work; Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing; Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.
