POSITION SUMMARY
Performs and assists in performing repair, installation, and preventative maintenance programs for all the Environmental Services department's crafts including but not limited to carpet cleaning, equipment repair, custodial support, mold removal, chemical replenishment, etc. Provides supervision and training of district custodians. This position reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs and assists in performing repair, installation, and preventative maintenance programs for all the Environmental Services department's crafts including but not limited to training, carpet cleaning, equipment repair, custodial support, mold removal, chemical replenishment, etc. Provides supervision and training of district custodians. Assumes responsibility for all tools and materials. Operates different equipment relevant to training, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance including but not limited to wax and buff machines, commercial vacuum cleaner, ladders, etc. Drives district vehicle to work sites as needed to perform work throughout the district; maintains proper parts PPE and inventory on the district vehicle to meet assigned maintenance work orders; restocks supplies and tools in vehicle; performs daily vehicle safety check. All other duties and training, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services to support district initiatives.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED certificate required. Custodial experience preferred. Makes decisions which impact the schools/buildings/stakeholders of the district. Valid Georgia driver's license required; CDL preferred; trade/technical license or certification preferred. Independent judgement is necessary; other decisions and recommendations made under the guidance of Environmental Services Supervisor. Requires regular contact with internal and external stakeholders and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of importance. Provides supervision and training to district custodians. Knowledge preferred in processing paperwork electronically utilizing Word, Excel, and Outlook, Gmail, Google Docs, Incident IQ, etc. Responsibility for the
Welfare of Others:
Constant (Daily) - to exercise the duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well-being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders. Variable work environment - all district buildings and grounds; subjected to a wide range of weather conditions and temperatures. May be on call after normal work hours (24 hours a day, seven days a week) and in emergency situations; may be required to assist other Facilities departments as requested. Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds frequently and one hundred (100) pounds occasionally; must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required. Walking, standing, kneeling, driving for eight (8) hours per day; must be able to climb a thirty (30) foot ladder and negotiate stairs. Before being extended an offer of employment, selected candidates will be notified by the district to undergo the required physical examination for this position.
NOTE:
This is a Grade 18, 225-day position with a salary range of $33,820- $50,747. Final salary placement within this range is determined based on individual credentials, years of relevant experience, and the guidelines outlined in the CCPS Compensation Handbook found here.
