Overview Join our team as a Full‑Time Custodial Worker at a busy rest area, where your dedication to cleanliness and safety will create a welcoming environment for travelers and visitors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and facility upkeep. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure the rest area remains clean, safe, and inviting for all who pass through. This position offers an energetic work environment where your custodial skills directly contribute to a positive visitor experience. Duties Clean and disinfect restrooms, stalls, sinks, counters, and fixtures Sweep, mop, and maintain interior floors Empty trash and restock supplies Clean entrance glass, mirrors, and high‑touch surfaces Perform hourly restroom checks and spot cleaning Maintain outdoor areas including walkways and trash receptacles Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor Follow GDOT custodial standards and safety protocols Skills Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services with knowledge of commercial cleaning standards Ability to handle cleaning equipment efficiently Strong understanding of sanitation practices and chemical handling safety procedures Physical strength for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and safe lifting practices Excellent customer service skills to interact politely with visitors and address their needs professionally Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or residential painting is a plus Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and porter experience enhances your effectiveness in this role
