Overview Join our dynamic facilities maintenance team as a Custodian Evening/Night! In this vital role, you will be the guardian of cleanliness, safety, and order during the evening and overnight hours. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure our environment remains pristine, welcoming, and well-maintained. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a clean and safe space while honing your custodial and maintenance skills in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas using commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, ensuring high standards of hygiene and appearance. Handle various chemical agents safely for cleaning, disinfecting, and floor care tasks, adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care techniques to preserve their condition and appearance. Execute janitorial duties including trash removal, restroom sanitation, window cleaning, and surface dusting with precision and efficiency. Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs needed for lighting, plumbing, or structural issues; assist with basic repairs when trained. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with handling chemical agents safely during cleaning processes. Experience operating floor buffers, scrubbers, or other custodial equipment is preferred. Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safe manual handling practices is essential. Background in facilities services or porter roles that involve general building upkeep will be advantageous.
