Job Overview Surgery/clinic in Savannah is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across our facility. As an Environmental Services Technician, you will be responsible for performing cleaning and sanitation tasks with precision and efficiency, ensuring compliance with health regulations and creating a welcoming atmosphere for staff and visitors alike. Duties Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Follow established protocols for waste disposal, including hazardous waste handling when necessary. Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing using proper floor care techniques. Ensure all cleaning activities comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards to promote workplace safety. Restock supplies such as paper products, hand sanitizers, and cleaning materials to ensure availability at all times. Operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively while adhering to safety guidelines for equipment use. Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to supervisory staff for resolution. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and supply inventory in accordance with facility policies. Qualifications At lease 1 year of experience in environmental services, janitorial work, or custodial roles within healthcare is required. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and chemical handling. Proven ability to perform cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of sanitation. Familiarity with hospital or healthcare environment cleaning procedures is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, and buffing is preferred. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
