Job Description

Position Title:
Cleaning Technician Report To:
Special Projects Coordinator Description:
The Cleaning Technician is responsible for cleaning vacant units after remodels/move outs, clean all common areas of units/properties, general upkeep the grounds and the overall presentation of all HHSI properties; scattered site properties owned and operated by Humility Homes and Services. Duties include, but are not limited to: sanitizing high touch surfaces, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming/shampooing carpets, scrubbing walls/appliances, cleaning kitchens/bathrooms, removing abandoned furniture/belongings from units, maintain cleanliness in common areas, picking up trash/debris, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing and snow removal. The cleaning Technician will also be responsible for assisting program participants with daily living skills related to maintaining a sanitary unit. Must be able to maintain records, preserve confidentiality, work with individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues, and work well in a busy, high stress environment.
Qualifications:
Must be able to lift 75lbs. Ability to work independently.
Experience:
Individual must possess the ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with others and have basic computer skills. Person should be able to understand the concepts of trauma informed care, social work ethics and office etiquette. Individual must also be capable of preserving the confidentiality of employee and participant records.

Responsibilities:
1. Commitment to Ethical and Effective Services Know and implement HHSI's mission, policies, and procedures; and abide by all city, state, and federal laws, and regulations. Maintain trainings in suicide risk assessment, mandatory child and dependent adult abuse and neglect reporting, crisis intervention, and civil rights, housing discrimination, harm reduction, trauma informed care and housing first practices. Regularly address the agency's needs and make course corrections when necessary. Adhere to HHSI's agency values in all aspects of work. 2.
Janitorial duties:
Clean the interior of common areas of properties including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, laundry rooms, and walls. Disinfect commonly used items like door handles, handrails, and appliances. Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed. Empty trash and recycling bins Clean apartments after remodels/move outs to prepare for new tenants. Clean bathrooms including sinks, toilets, and floors. Assists participants with daily living skills, related to cleaning and keeping the units in a sanitary condition. 3.
Groundskeeping Duties:
Maintain outdoor grounds, cut grass and trim bushes. Clean common areas of all properties. Remove debris and snow from sidewalks. Remove litter from the Emergency Shelter property and the parking lots adjacent to the property. Replace furnace filters at properties and replace batteries in smoke detectors as needed. 4.
Documentation:
Completes incident reports. File them in the appropriate locations. Communicates via email to the Special Projects Coordinator, Safety Officer or Maintenance Supervisor when critical incidents occur. Checks and responds to emails, text messages and phone calls from Special Projects Coordinator and Chief Programs Officer. 5.
Other Duties:
Assists the Property Management companies with other groundskeeping duties at HHSI's properties as needed. Treat all participants and tenants with respect and report any concerns immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Performs other duties, as needed. Ability to ensure the protection of the confidentiality of participants in our programs. Understanding of a computer programs MS word, excel, Paycom and Microsoft Outlook email and calendar
Schedule:
Full Time. Must be able to work 36- hours per week. Must be flexible for earlier days or later nights as needed.
Salary:
Based on qualifications. Travel expenses, and some benefits included.

The work environment for this position includes an accessible office environment with a high noise level; scattered-site housing with a variety of accessibility and environmental conditions; and an accessible shelter facility with moderate to occasionally loud noise levels. Environment includes donated food items, which may contain a variety of allergens. Position also regularly required to use janitorial supplies, such as disinfectants, laundry detergent, air fresheners, etc. Shelter, office, and scattered-site housing may occasionally house service and emotional support animals.

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
