A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
The District is looking for an energetic organized individual to join a three person building crew full-time at our elementary building.
Basic Function of the
Position:
Cleaning and/or maintenance of district facilities.
Qualifications
General maintenance and cleaning experience
Able to demonstrate cleaning procedures and respective equipment
Capable of responding to emergency situations, as needed
Demonstrate a positive attitude toward people
Willing to work cooperatively
Self-starter
Responsibilities
Mowing, trimming, snow removal, and other basic grounds keeping skills
General cleaning and event set up & clean up
Clean carpets and refinish terrazzo floors during summer cleaning (training will be provided)
Comply with all safety and health standards as set by state and federal regulations
Professional Development as needed or recommended
Other duties as assigned
Consults with administration, secretarial, food service, and other staff
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Good physical health, including ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Some repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers
Frequent bending, carrying, heaving, lifting, pushing, and stooping
Occasional climbing, crawling, and reaching
Occasionally required to work at extreme temperature and humidity
Occasionally subjected to vibrations, mechanical and electrical hazards
Atmospheric conditions may include fumes, odors, mists, and dust
Potential exposure to communicable illnesses
Caution to avoid misuse of chemicals
