Job Description

Holy Trinity Elementary in West Point, Iowa is looking for a full-time dependable and hardworking Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, be detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors as needed

Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly

Refill supplies in restrooms (soap, paper towels, toilet paper)

Wash windows, walls, and other surfaces as required

Assist in the setup and teardown of furniture or equipment for school events

Report any maintenance issues (leaks, broken fixtures, safety hazards) to the appropriate personnel

Lock and unlock doors and secure buildings after hours

Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines

Position Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift

Must pass a background check in accordance with school policies

Pay commensurate with experience.
