What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Overview In this role, you will adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations related to the safe operation and proper use of hand tools and power tools. Additional responsibilities include performing general cleaning and maintenance duties, maintaining organized and safe work areas. Duties Sweep and mop. Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills. Clean glass areas. Replace lightbulbs Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables, and equipment in the meeting rooms, and functional rooms. Clear snow from entrances and walkways, and salt them down. Preforms ground keeping duties, clears debris and maintains grounds. Delivers supplies and materials to bathrooms and other areas of the building. Empty wastebaskets; picks up and moves trash and assist in recycling program. General cleaning and repair work. Complete other tasks requested by the Superintendent. Uses hand tools and other related power equipment. Including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machine, vacuum cleaners, snow blowers, shovels, power mower and hand tools.
Pay:
$40,800.00 per year
