Today we're one of the largest independently owned Christian publishers in the world. Though our business has grown, our mission remains the same: to open God's Word to as many as possible in language they can relate to and understand. A clean, well-kept building is not background work at Tyndale — it is part of what allows our editors, designers, and warehouse teams to do their work well. In this part-time role, roughly 20 hours per week at our Carol Stream, Illinois campus, you will keep our office and warehouse facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for the people who work here and the guests who visit. You will join Tyndale's housekeeping team, working alongside our janitorial and maintenance staff and reporting to the Facilities Supervisor.
What You'll Do Restroom Care:
Clean, sanitize, and fully restock restrooms so every employee and visitor encounters a facility that reflects care and professionalism.
Break Rooms & Common Areas:
Sanitize break room tables, countertops, sinks, appliances, and floors, and maintain walkways and shared spaces so the places people gather stay clean and inviting.
Scheduled Office Cleaning:
Work an established rotation of dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and surface cleaning that keeps offices consistently ready for the workday.
Floor & Surface Maintenance:
Mop designated areas, vacuum entry mats, runners, and carpets, and clean interior windows, doors, and assigned surfaces.
Waste Removal:
Empty and properly dispose of trash throughout the office building and warehouse.
Safety & Supply Stewardship:
Monitor janitorial supply levels and report shortages, safety concerns, and maintenance issues promptly so small problems don't become big ones. Skills and Qualifications Needed One year of janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred, but we are glad to train the right person Strong attention to cleanliness and detail, with a professional demeanor and commitment to quality service Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle a variety of cleaning tasks Good interpersonal and communication skills Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) preferred; the ability to communicate effectively with English- and Spanish-speaking employees is highly desirable Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, kneel, reach, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds Ability to work safely in warehouse and office environments, including around warehouse equipment, moving traffic, and employees during normal business operations, and to safely use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God's Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith In this part-time role at our Carol Stream, Illinois campus, you'll work 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, on either an early morning shift (5:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.) or an afternoon shift (3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.) We want to hear more about you and why you are interested in Tyndale and this role, so we highly recommend including a cover letter.
