Day Porter / Building Maintenance

Marc Realty is seeking a Day Porter to perform janitorial and basic maintenance tasks at our Des Plaines location.

Job Summary:

The primary function is to provide exceptional custodial care to the property.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for inspecting areas needing attention and to assure proper levels of cleanliness & safety such as: elevators, lobby, conference rooms, vacant spaces, bathrooms, lunch areas, stairwells, outside building perimeter, loading docks, sidewalks, and parking lots. Monitor cleaning supply inventory and report when inventories are below predetermined levels. Working on basic maintenance repairs such as loose washroom partitions, replacement of broken fixtures, changing light bulbs, cleaning clogged toilets, minor painting, tile replacement, and other light maintenance tasks. Report any observed areas requiring attention to building management. Snow removal and salting of sidewalks, entrances, etc. Always uphold the image the building Other duties as assigned Nonessential Functions Basic plumbing knowledge Basic mechanical knowledge Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Work well with others Act professional and always represent MR well Good communication skills Handle a variety of duties simultaneously Dependability & reliable Working Conditions Walk all areas of the property including and not limited to: interior of building, exterior of building, roof, basement, stairwells, boiler rooms, and dark areas. Employee must be physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs. May have to detect auditory and or visual emergency alarms. Minimum Qualifications High school degree/GED is required.
