Job Description

Full-time Custodian•Building Location to be Determined 12 month position
Hours:
2 positions available 3:00 p.m.•11:30 p.m.; 1 position available: 6:00 a.m.•2:30 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; knowledge and skills to perform custodial and maintenance responsibilities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with building care and equipment repairs. Maintain safe and attractive building and grounds. Clean classrooms, other educational areas, cafeteria, gymnasiums, offices, restrooms and other areas of the building used regularly. Clean other items not requiring daily attention (i.e., windows, light fixtures, shades, blinds, desks, etc.) Replace light bulbs. Assist in opening and securing (locking) the building each day that school is in session and possible weekends. Unload and distribute supplies and equipment. Dispose of trash. Assist in removal of snow and ice (this does require outside work in the elements and may include starting as early as 4:00 AM or working beyond the end of the workday or on weekends depending on conditions, operating snow removal equipment including trucks, tractors or other vehicles with plows or snow brushes, shoveling snow by hand and spreading salt or sand). Perform other custodial and maintenance duties assigned by the Head Custodian or supervisory personnel. Assist in the mowing of grass, trimming shrubbery, picking up litter and general grounds maintenance. intramural and interscholastic competition. Assist in setting up for assemblies and other special programs. Assist secretaries, teachers and other school employees with problems related to moving supplies, equipment, repairs and small classroom construction projects. Make recommendations for building and grounds improvements to your supervisor. Report any discrepancies to the Head Custodian.
SALARY AND FRINGE BENEFITS
Pay range: $16.00•$17.28 depending on experience Ten (10) vacation days per year after 1 full year of service Fifteen (15) days per year sick leave Two (2) days personal leave per year Health, Vision, Dental and Life Insurance offered
