Job Description:

As a Porter and Shop Assistant at J & C Auto Service, you will perform basic vehicle maintenance, assist with various tasks in the shop, drive company and customer vehicles, support the team and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our business.

Responsibilities include:

AUTOMOTIVE

Fluid checks and fills Air tires Light bulb replacements Able to lift heavy objects, have mechanical aptitude, and teamwork skills. Assist technicians as needed

DRIVING:

Safely driving a company vehicle following all traffic laws and company policies Run various errands as needed Pick up parts and return parts to various vendors Take parts and deliveries to and from our body shop in Westmont Take customers home and pick up customers Test drive customer vehicles. Relay pertinent information to service advisor and technician regarding findings. Informing management of any issues. Take vehicles for emission tests

CLEANING

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop Sweeping floors, cleaning up spills, and taking out the trash

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Interacting with customers in a professional and friendly manner, being helpful, answering questions and providing quality customer service

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with social media platforms Re-stocking inventory and supplies Pick up supplies as needed Obtain vehicle information to update customer records Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record Good communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and effectively communicate with all staff, management, technicians and customers. Hard-working, able to work well under pressure, and works well in a team environment while also being self-motivated Social media skills are helpful Ability to handle various tools helpful but not required Some mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical principles
