Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Handle custodial tasks such as trash removal, floor buffing, sanitation procedures, and surface disinfection to uphold health standards. Operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers and other commercial cleaning tools safely and effectively. Follow all chemical handling safety procedures when using cleaning agents or disinfectants to prevent hazards. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and manual handling of supplies or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Maintain cleanliness logs and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to supervisors. Support facilities maintenance activities as needed, including minor repairs or painting tasks related to the upkeep of the facility. Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or commercial environments is preferred but not required. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers safely and efficiently. Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy objects or supplies. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary. Ability to work independently during weekend and holiday shifts with minimal supervision. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including standing for long periods, bending, lifting heavy items, and performing repetitive motions.
