Description:

Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is looking for a full-time Custodian to join our team at Lincoln Trail Elementary School. This position would be working second shift (hours ranging from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) with flexibility based on need.

Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and other assigned areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform other routine cleaning duties. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and maintain proper disposal procedures. Clean and maintain floors, windows, furniture, fixtures, and other building surfaces. Monitor and maintain restroom supplies and other custodial supplies. Assist with building setup and cleanup for school activities and events. Perform minor maintenance and report building or equipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain safe and secure buildings and grounds. Follow established safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures. Operate custodial equipment and tools safely and appropriately. Work cooperatively with administrators, staff, students, and other district employees.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. Must be self-directed, able to work without supervision, detail-oriented and organized. Knowledge of custodial supplies, along with knowledge of cleaning methods and techniques. Ability to perform physical duties associated with custodial work, including lifting, bending, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods. Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe school environment. Must pass a criminal background check and a physical ability assessment.

Salary :

The starting pay is $19.17 per hour. This rate could be higher based on previous full-time custodial experience.

NOTE:

Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we are currently negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
