Full Job Description Facility Services Specialist Status:
Exempt, Full-time Schedule:
Sunday:
8:00am-4:30pm,
Monday:

Purpose:
This position performs a wide variety of custodial and event support duties, under general and limited supervision, in and around the building and grounds; troubleshoots, performs minor repairs and responds to immediate needs for service; implements setup and takedown for a wide variety of campus events; works closely with employees and the public to meet the custodial needs of the church; and resolves problems to ensure clean, orderly, and safe operations.
Responsibilities:
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and vacuuming. Gather and empty trash. Clean and polish furniture, restroom fixtures, counter tops, etc.. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Mix cleaning chemicals to proper dilution ratios. Carpet extraction and spot removal. Scrub and buff hard surface floors. Clean and restore building interiors damaged by normal wear & tear, using commercial cleaning equipment. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to the building's equipment and oneself. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors and checking electrical appliance use to ensure the elimination of potential hazards. Clear and dispose of trash and debris from the building and grounds, walkways/sidewalks, and curbs. Notify managers concerning the need for repairs and issues that may arise. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Set up tables, chairs, and other special event needs to prepare facilities for church events and meetings. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Three years of past custodial experience is required.
Ability to:
work with commercial cleaning chemicals identify stains and use proper chemicals for their removal operate manual and power equipment work effectively in and around the public perform physical labor understand and carry out oral and written directions in English maintain cooperative working relationships demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population. Must be dedicated, proactive, and self-motivated with the ability to be flexible in a changing environment. Must possess the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner. Possess knowledge of methods of maintaining, cleaning, and preserving a variety of surfaces; proper use of a wide range of chemicals per state and federal regulations; handling and disposing of hazardous materials and blood borne pathogens with care. Operate and maintain various custodial equipment (i.e. floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers, pressure washers, ladders, etc.) Detail oriented. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), pushing heavy loads, climbing ladders, bending, standing, and frequent walking. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise. Routinely required to work in high participant traffic areas.
