A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for 2 to 3 candidates to join our cleaning crew at the Anderson Public Library. Our crew begins work at 6:00am and must be finished shortly before the library opens at 9:00am Monday-Friday. Candidates would be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring that all spaces are spotless and welcoming. This role requires strong attention to detail, very reliable attendance and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Duties Cleaning tables, chairs, desks and other hard surfaces Cleaning restrooms Cleaning elevators Cleaning windows Vacuuming floors and stairways Sweeping and mopping hard surface floors Dusting stacks and book shelves Replacing trash bags and taking trash to the dumpster Restocking supplies and dispensers as needed Running cleaning rags through the on-site washer/dryer weekly Reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards and inventory needs to the appropriate personnel Pay This position takes approximately 3 hours to complete and starts at $50.00 per day but increases to $60.00 per day dependent on perfect attendance in your first 90 days.
