Job Summary Are you looking for a flexible afternoon job? We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across our facility. This role is vital in ensuring that all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a welcoming space for employees and visitors alike. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained workplace while developing valuable custodial skills. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning and sanitation purposes, following proper chemical handling procedures. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and safety glasses to ensure safety during cleaning activities. Maintain high standards of sanitation in food production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments by following industry-specific protocols such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, and industrial vacuums efficiently and safely. Follow strict safety protocols related to chemical handling, respiratory protection, and general workplace safety guidelines. Assist with heavy lifting tasks when necessary to move supplies or equipment safely within the facility. Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial cleaning or industrial settings is preferred. Knowledge of chemical agent handling and sanitation standards required for food safety and manufacturing environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with industrial cleaning duties. Basic math skills for inventory management and proper measurement of cleaning agents. Familiarity with GMP standards, food safety regulations, and safety protocol adherence is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments such as food processing or warehouse facilities.
