Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

School Janitor /
Custodian Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for daily cleaning, sanitization, and basic facility upkeep across classrooms, offices, and common areas.
Key Responsibilities Daily Cleaning & Sanitization:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, hallways, restrooms, and administrative offices.
Waste Management:
Empty trash, recycling, and compost bins daily, replacing liners and ensuring proper disposal.
Restroom Maintenance:
Clean, sanitize, and restock soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in all restrooms.
Surface Care:
Disinfect high-touch surfaces (doorknobs, desks, handrails, light switches) according to safety standards.
Event Support:
Assist with setting up and cleaning up furniture/equipment for school events, meetings, and sports activities.
Safety & Upkeep:
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the Facilities Director. Requirements Prior custodial, commercial cleaning, or maintenance experience preferred but not required. Must be able to follow directions. Ability to pass a mandatory background check and background screening for working around children. Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or with a team.
Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour
