A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Custodian:

evening hours of 2:30 to 11:00 p.m. Custodian Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of facility buildings and grounds. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms, common areas, and offices. Performs minor repairs and maintenance tasks, manages trash removal, and restocks supplies as needed. May operate cleaning equipment and report safety hazards. Must be dependable, able to work independently, and capable of standing/lifting for extended periods. Prior janitorial experience preferred.
