Custodial Lead and/or Director of Maintenance & Facilities

PAY TYPE

Hourly, Non-Exempt, Classified, Non-Supervisory

PAY RATE

Starting at $16.50 / hr., with potential for increases based on experience

SCHEDULE

Full-time, year-round; 8 hours / day; 260 working days / year This position will remain posted until filled. All qualified and interested applicants are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Custodial & Maintenance Duties:

Perform custodial maintenance tasks including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets Clean and restock restrooms regularly to ensure cleanliness and hygiene Assist the Custodial Lead in maintaining a clean and orderly school environment to facilitate optimal educational use at all times Safely perform all custodial duties as assigned

Teamwork & Communication:

Represent the West Lafayette Community School Corporation by maintaining a professional and positive attitude at all times Communicate effectively with staff, students, and other stakeholders Deliver excellent customer service to all individuals using school facilities and services

Professional Development:

Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to training and established procedures

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience Required:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required Preferred prior experience in custodial and light maintenance duties

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:

Knowledge of and the ability to safely operate custodial machinery, chemicals, and tools Familiarity with general cleaning procedures and best practices Ability to work independently and exhibit positive energy and enthusiasm for the work Strong ability to collaborate and work well as a part of a team Ability to follow directions and work without close supervision

WORKING CONDITIONS
