Janitorial Worker - 2nd Shift Job Description This role provides janitorial services in a large data center, ensuring that office spaces, common areas, restrooms, and operational areas remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. You work primarily on the 2nd shift, supporting a high-demand facility by performing routine and detailed cleaning tasks, including floor care and trash removal inside and outside the building. Responsibilities Perform daily janitorial duties in a large data center, including offices, common areas, and operational spaces. Sweep, mop, and dust floors, surfaces, and fixtures to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Remove trash and recyclables from office spaces, common areas, and data center areas, and transport them to designated disposal locations. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and dispensers, and restock supplies as needed. Perform occasional outdoor trash removal and related exterior cleaning tasks as required. Follow established floor care procedures to maintain floors in clean and safe condition. Use cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies safely and in accordance with facility guidelines. Follow all safety rules, including the proper use of required footwear and personal protective equipment. Support additional cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned by supervision. Work scheduled 2nd shift hours and be available for overtime as needed to support facility operations. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience in janitorial, housekeeping, general production, warehouse, food service, or manufacturing roles. Ability to perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom cleaning tasks consistently and to a high standard. Basic floor care skills and the ability to follow established cleaning procedures. Capability to work 2nd shift hours, including evenings and late nights. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including occasional exterior trash removal. Reliability and strong work ethic, with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in bathrooms and cafeterias is a plus. Previous experience in a large facility, plant, or data center environment is beneficial. Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with defined cleaning routines. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a 2nd shift role, typically working from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. There are two openings with a Sunday-Wednesday schedule and one opening with a Wednesday-Saturday schedule. You work in a large data center and associated office and common areas within an industrial facility. The position may require some overtime based on operational needs. Work takes place at a plant environment similar to a large distribution or logistics facility. You must wear steel-toe or composite-toe boots as part of the required attire, and you may spend time both indoors and outdoors while performing trash removal and cleaning tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Utica, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
