Position Summary & Responsibilities Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients/residents, staff, and visitors at Larned State Hospital. Specifically, this position provides service to areas on the LSH Campus which are restricted from Patient/Resident access to include laundry rooms, offices, group rooms, pantries, staff corridors, exam rooms, linen closets, electrical and mechanical rooms, trash and laundry rooms, custodial closets, conference rooms, nursing stations, lobbies, and visitation areas. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: General Custodial Work in Indoor Spaces Sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors Gathering and disposing of trash Collecting recycled materials Dusting furniture, windowsills, walls, and fixtures Washing windows Vacuuming Shampooing, extracting, or bonnet scrubbing of carpets Refinishing floors Cleaning light fixtures Ordering and stocking supplies Other related cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor Exterior Custodial Work Sweeping sidewalks and entryways Washing windows and doorframes Emptying and cleaning outdoor trash receptacles Removal of snow and ice from sidewalks Applies deicer or salt/sand mixture to sidewalks Collection of hazardous waste for pick-up by the State-certified recovery system Other Ordering and stocking supplies Reporting maintenance issues to the Engineering Department Maintaining equipment in clean and working order Testing of eyewash stations as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Prefer six months experience in building, institutional, or hospital custodial work.
