ABM Industries is seeking a Lead Custodial Cleaner to support clean, safe, and efficient facilities for clients in commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial settings. This role leads a small team of cleaners, assigns tasks, inspects work, and provides hands-on training while performing routine and deep cleaning, including restrooms, floors, and high-touch surfaces. The Lead ensures compliance with safety procedures, proper use of chemicals and equipment, and accurate supply tracking. Responsibilities Lead a team of custodial staff to ensure clean, safe, and sanitary facilities across client sites Assign daily cleaning tasks, inspect work quality, and provide on-the-job training and coaching Perform routine and deep cleaning, including restrooms, floors, trash removal, and disinfecting high-touch areas Operate and maintain custodial equipment and ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and supplies Monitor inventory of cleaning materials and coordinate replenishment as needed Enforce ABM safety standards, PPE usage, and incident reporting procedures Communicate with site management regarding service needs, priorities, and special projects Support onboarding of new team members and model ABM's culture of respect, inclusion, and teamwork Required Skills Team leadership Commercial cleaning procedures Floor care (sweep, mop, scrub, buff) Restroom sanitation Chemical safety and SDS knowledge Use of custodial equipment (auto-scrubbers, buffers, vacuums) Infection control and disinfecting protocols Inventory management for supplies Basic OSHA safety practices Quality inspection and reporting
