A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

POSITION PURPOSE
Under supervision, performs work involving housekeeping, sweeping, mopping, shampooing carpets, cleaning, scrubbing, toilet sanitation, and any other duties as may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates power buffers, burnishers, and power sweepers Operates standard and automatic transmission vehicle Cleaning of breakrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, kitchen areas and office areas to include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, trash and food waste pick up. Receives, inventories, stocks, and distributes needed supplies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous industrial janitorial experience
Special Requirements:
Must be a citizen of the United States and authorized to work in the US Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a government vehicle Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" security clearance
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to meet physical capacity requirements of position as determined by the Occupational Medical Provider. Must be able to wear company-provided personal protection equipment when required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The work is conducted both indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is normally mild to moderate. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, machinery, and vehicles. The employee must be able to stand for long periods and walk across uneven terrain.
