Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team at Providence Elementary School as a Custodian. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a commitment to excellence in cleaning and facility upkeep, ensuring that the school is a conducive place for learning and development. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and effectively. Monitor and restock supplies in restrooms and other facilities as needed. Assist in the setup and breakdown of school events and activities, including moving furniture and equipment. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe environment for students and staff. Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests and spills. Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall cleanliness and organization of the school. Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety. Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not mandatory. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies is preferred. Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
