Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a custodian at Sebree Elementary School. This full-time position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Ensure all school facilities are clean, sanitized, and organized to promote a healthy learning environment. Maintain and restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as necessary. Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly. Follow established safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning tasks. Support the school's recycling and waste management initiatives. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the school. Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required. Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
