Job Description

The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Custodian Supervisor A to join our team and play a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by providing routine upkeep and support throughout the buildings. Job Duties:
Supervise 8-15 Custodians and oversee cleaning operations for 160,000-300,000 sq. ft. of assigned facilities. Provide in-service training on custodial methods, equipment, safety, and department policies. Maintain performance documentation and complete Performance Planning and Review (PPR) evaluations in accordance with Civil Service guidelines. Assist custodial staff with daily cleaning tasks and provide coverage when staff are absent. Inspect buildings and recommend improvements in cleaning products, floor care methods, and overall maintenance practices. Ensure effective communication with custodial staff, peers, and university leadership. Oversee cleaning and upkeep of classrooms, offices, laboratories, restrooms, entrances, hallways, and stairwells. Ensure waste removal, dusting, surface cleaning, glass cleaning, and floor care (dust mopping, spot mopping, and scheduled full mopping) are performed to standard. Maintain restrooms through daily cleaning, disinfecting fixtures, restocking supplies, and removing graffiti promptly. Perform related duties necessary to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility environment.
