Job Description
Dependable , detailed cleaner for commercial building, must be able to work 6p-8p, Mondays and Thursdays, start immediately. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and meet safety standards. Your proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance will contribute to a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and commitment to safety are highly valued. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures for storage, mixing, and disposal to ensure a hazard-free environment. Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to maintain high standards of floor care and sanitation. Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment. Maintain cleanliness by emptying trash receptacles, replacing liners, and ensuring proper sanitation protocols are followed throughout the facility. Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting larger repairs needed for facilities upkeep. Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities. Skills Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments with knowledge of janitorial procedures. Skilled in handling chemical agents safely according to safety protocol adherence and chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial vacuums effectively. Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors. Familiarity with custodial experience related to sanitation standards and facilities maintenance. Knowledge of residential painting or general maintenance is a plus but not required.
