Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This role involves performing custodial duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining different areas within commercial and industrial settings. The applicant must have or be willing to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card). The applicant will be subject to a federal background check and drug testing. The applicant will also have to attend classes to obtain Safety and Facility Certifications. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness. Ensure all restrooms are stocked and cleaned regularly. Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to maintain high standards of appearance. Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company policies. Assist with light facilities maintenance tasks as needed. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; notify management when supplies are low. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Qualifications Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred but not required. Knowledge of floor care techniques, including buffing and polishing. Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
