Duties Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies Handle various cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain sanitation standards Operate specialized equipment like floor buffers and carpet cleaners to ensure floors are polished and well-maintained Follow safety protocols when handling chemical agents and cleaning supplies to prevent accidents or exposure Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly Assist with light custodial duties such as replenishing supplies and ensuring restrooms are stocked and hygienic Adhere strictly to chemical handling safety procedures and proper manual handling practices during all tasks Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or troubleshooting cleaning equipment issues Ability to perform heavy lifting safely in accordance with safe lifting practices Customer service skills are a plus, especially when interacting with staff or visitors regarding cleanliness standards Previous experience in industrial cleaning or porter roles is advantageous This role is ideal for proactive individuals eager to contribute to a clean, safe environment while developing their skills in custodial maintenance.
