A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Join a dedicated facilities team committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. As a Day Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the grounds and exterior areas of our property are always presentable and well-kept. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy being outdoors, and are attentive to detail. Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will help create a positive first impression for everyone who visits our property. Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all exterior grounds, including walkways, roadways, and parking lots. Remove trash and debris from all outdoor areas and empty exterior trash receptacles regularly. Rake leaves, prune trees, and care for flower beds and landscaped areas according to established standards. Keep the grounds equipment storage area organized and tidy. Ensure the grounds vehicle is clean inside and out at all times. Clear building entrances of trash, cigarette butts, leaves, and similar debris daily. Water plants as needed to maintain healthy landscaping. Inspect parking lots and outdoor areas for cleanliness and address any issues promptly. Perform additional grounds-related tasks as assigned by the Engineering and Maintenance department. Report any dangerous conditions or safety hazards immediately to the Facility Manager. Communicate relevant findings and recommendations to the Facility Manager as needed. Qualifications Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility for maintaining a clean environment. Physical ability to perform outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods. Willingness to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
Offered compensation:
$23/yr - $26/yr
