$20—$25 per hour Janitor / Maintenance Staff The Maintenance / Janitorial Technician is responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position performs routine custodial duties, basic maintenance tasks, and assists with event setup and campus upkeep. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining school facilities to a high standard. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and empty trash and recycling containers. Replenish restroom and custodial supplies as needed. Clean windows, doors, and other surfaces to maintain a professional appearance. Follow established cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures. Perform basic repairs such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, door hardware, and minor plumbing fixtures. Assist with preventive maintenance tasks throughout the campus. Identify and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns. Perform seasonal maintenance activities and building project deep cleans over school closure months. Help maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized manner. Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities as needed. Occasionally assist with furniture and equipment transfer between school satellite sites and main campus. Assist with special cleaning projects before and after school functions. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods. Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, maintenance procedures, and safe equipment operation. Strong reliability, work ethic, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Successful completion of background checks and other employment requirements applicable to working in a school environment. Schedule and Pay Part-time position, approximately 24 to 29 hours per week.
Base working hours:
Monday through Friday 3 pm to 8 pm with a flex schedule available as needed. Flexible schedule, including afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend hours as needed for school events. Hourly pay rate depending on experience: $20 - 25 per hour Work Environment This position works primarily on-site throughout the school campus as well as several small satellite locations, including classrooms, offices, gymnasiums, cafeterias, outdoor areas, and other school facilities.
