Duties Join us as a Second Shift Custodian and be part of a team committed to creating clean, safe spaces that support productivity and well-being! Your dedication will directly contribute to the positive environment we strive to maintain every day. 1. Sweep, dry mop, wet mop, wash, polish, scrub, strip, seal, wax, vacuum, shampoo, spot removal: On interior floors and carpets at entrances, in corridors, classrooms, stairways, toilet rooms, lounges, offices, library, gymnasium, locker and shower rooms, auditorium, cafeteria, kitchen and supply rooms, utility rooms and other areas. 2.
Sweep and pick-up loose trash:
At outside entrances, walks, stairways and around exterior of the buildings 3. Dust, polish, wash and spot clean: Furniture, desks, chairs, settees, bookcases, shelves, counter tops, cabinets, files, display cases, telephones, lamps and other items. 4. Low and high dust and clean: Windows, window sills, partitions, doors, walls, moldings, baseboards, woodwork, paneling, blinds, drapes, curtains, ceiling, light fixtures, chalk boards, chalk trays. 5. Clean and polish glass and metal work: Doors, partitions, windows, mirrors, display cases, handles, plaques, etc. 6.
Clean and disinfect:
Drinking fountains, urinals, hoppers, sinks, faucets and fixtures, handles, pipes, receptacles and dispensers, walls, doors and partitions in toilet room areas; shower and locker rooms; tables, chairs, counter tops, disposal units, and other services in food preparation and food service areas. 7.
Refill dispensers:
Towel, toilet tissue, soap and sanitary napkin dispensers. 8. Pick-up and remove trash to disposal area: All papers and other used and waste materials from baskets, receptacles, and containers. 9.
Snow removal:
Keep all entrances, stairs, walks and emergency exits free from snow and ice. 10.
Other duties:
a. Move furniture, chairs, desks, tables, cabinets, etc., as needed by the teachers. Set up and take down above items for meetings and events. b. Assist in receipt and distribution of supplies. c. Replace light bulbs. d. Assist with minor repairs. e. Exercise proper use and care of all tools, supplies and equipment. f. Keep custodial closets, sinks, supply areas neat, clean and orderly. g. Assist in emergencies and accidents. h. Beware of hazards to health and safety and assist in correction and prevention. i. Assignment of work to areas within buildings, and scheduling of cleaning procedures and other tasks shall be as directed by the Head Custodian, Assistant Head Custodian, Principal, Director of Facilities, or Assistant Superintendent. Such assignments are subject to change according to need as determined by the above individuals; including assignment to other buildings for temporary assistance, or special projects. 11. Assist students, teachers, Principals, supervisors, and other custodial workers as directed: Report promptly all non-functioning, broken or inoperative items and Systems to supervisor and/or Principal. 12. Carries out other responsibilities relating to the custodial/maintenance function which may be Job Qualifications & Physical Demands.
Pay:
$19.39 - $23.57 per hour
