A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

JOB SUMMARY
Innovation Academy Charter School seeks a custodian for a full-time position, starting immediately.RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a sample of duties the individual may be required to perform; it is not all-inclusive:- Responsible for cleaning the facilities, including trash removal, floor cleaning general cleaning, and sanitizing
- Sets up school and miscellaneous events; and other related duties.
- Ability to address light maintenance issues as needed
- Respond to building related issues during off hours as needed
- Manage student drop off and pick up as directed SKILLS
- Ability to work both independently and with colleagues on assignments
- Detail oriented and proactive in problem solving with an eye for making improvements throughout the school campus.
- Ability to work well with individuals from many diverse backgrounds and professions, as well as the student body.
- Must possess the physical ability to move and carry heavy loads; ability to climb stairs and ladders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior work experience is preferred.
- Flexible schedule with an ability to work evenings and weekends if needed
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.
- Ability to pass a State employee background check (CORI/SAFIS).
- This is a 40 hour per week position, Monday
- Friday. Overtime may be available.
- Pay commensurate with experience.

Innovation Academy is a project-based charter school in Tyngsborough serving students in grades 5-12. Our school has a close-knit alliance of teachers, students, administration, facilities, and parents.
