Location:
WMHS Position Summary WMHS is seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian to join our facilities team. This second-shift position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the building. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to providing high-quality custodial services.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (typical hours)
Salary Range:
$24.08 - $29.20 Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or a minimum of three (3) years of custodial and/or maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. General knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Ability to perform moderately heavy manual labor and routine physical tasks. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, administrators, and coworkers. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and good personal character. Successful completion of required background checks, including fingerprinting, CORI, and SORI. Essential Responsibilities Perform a variety of custodial and maintenance duties under general supervision. Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other assigned areas. Sweep, dust, scrub, and mop floors. Wash floors, walls, windows, furniture, tables, and sinks. Polish floors, furniture, and metal fixtures. Set up and arrange tables and chairs for meetings and events. Transport and deliver supplies, equipment, and materials as needed. Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines. Complete assigned work with minimal direction while maintaining quality standards. Perform additional custodial or maintenance duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and other physical activity throughout the workday. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to dirt, rain, and snow. Ability to remain standing or walking for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds repeatedly during a 4-8 hour shift. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks safely and efficiently.
